It's different across the Pond

Megan McArdle sums up different press cultures on either side of the Pond  very well. The biggest difference, in my own experience, is that the  biggest British  papers are all distributed  nationally, which creates murderous competition. There other significant differences which she also  lists. Together, she argues, they make the  Murdoch tabloid scandal much less likely to jump the Atlantic.
