Obama monitors storm responders

"If anyone asks for help, make them
beg for 7 hours and call al-Qaeda"

'Here comes the landslide'

"Voters have figured out that President Obama has no message, no agenda and not even much of an explanation for what he has done over the past four years," writes Dick Morris. "His campaign is based entirely on persuading people that Mitt Romney is a uniquely bad man, entirely dedicated to the rich, ignorant of the problems of the average person. As long as he could run his negative ads, the campaign at least kept voters away from the Romney bandwagon. But once we all met Mitt Romney for three 90-minute debates, we got to know him — and to like him. He was not the monster Obama depicted, but a reasonable person for whom we could vote.
"As we stripped away Obama’s yearlong campaign of vilification, all the president offered us was more servings of negative ads — ads we had already dismissed as not credible. He kept doing the same thing even as it stopped working. Read all of "Here Comes the Landslide"

Herald kicks Bam in the testimonials

At last! A member of the  MSM is kicking Obama in the testimonials over Benghazi. From The Boston Herald:
The Benghazi controversy is not one, but four separate scandals — each of which calls into question the president’s leadership.
First, Benghazi raises legitimate questions about Obama’s competence as commander in chief. In last week’s debate, the president said that his No. 1 job is to keep Americans safe. Then why did he not do so in Benghazi? Was the president unaware of the threat in Libya? Or did he simply fail to treat it with the requisite level of seriousness? The British saw the danger and closed their consulate months earlier. Once the attack was under way, why did the president fail to send assistance?
Second, the president’s reaction to Benghazi reveals his utter lack of integrity. That he allowed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to fall on her sword rather than man-up and accept responsibility for his administration’s failure was not only despicable, it was cowardly.
Third, Benghazi reveals the president to be dishonest. It is now clear that the administration knew almost immediately that the Benghazi attack was a premeditated act of terrorism. But, in order to protect his own political hide, the president engaged in a misinformation campaign aimed at deceiving the American public.
And the president continues to lie daily in order to hide the cover-up. His most recent claim (and who can keep track, with his story constantly changing?) that he made information public as it became available to him has been proved patently false. And yet, he continues to claim that if he provided inaccurate information, it was simply “the fog of war.”
Fourth, Benghazi reveals Obama’s deeply flawed ideological principles. Ironically, despite his flippant “fog of war” defense, Obama has never indicated that he regards the Benghazi murders as an attack upon America. To the contrary, his reflexive response was to describe the attack as a random act of violence provoked by American religious bigotry. He then went on to minimize the seriousness of this violence by calling it “less than optimal” and by jetting off to Vegas for a major fundraiser in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

Barack Obama's Diary: How to lead

"This way, Governor"
Dear Diary: My second day of demonstrating  decisive Leadership and good presidential optics. This time I am going to Atlantic City to tour the damage with Governor Chris Christie. Sharing a narrow back seat with Christie  ain't gonna be fun. The good news is that I get to look Presidential, while Mittman is left to twist in the wind, absorbing media mockery for  his attempts to organize cans of food for the huddled masses. While, with a wave of my imperial hand, billions of dollars appear on command, after I get permission from China.

Barack Obama's Diary: Keeping up appearances

Dear Diary:  I am spending today appearing  presidential. Hurricane Sandy is providing  a safe port for me as it distracts people from Benghazi. Meanwhile, let me be perfectly clear: while I pose for photos on the phone,  or in the Situation Room, looking serious, busy and in charge, I have Bill Clinton, Joe Biden and Michelle out campaigning, on my behalf. For now, life is good.

Peggy Noonan in today's WSJ: "...(Iwas talking with) a member of the U.S. Senate who served there with Mr Obama and has met with him in the White House. People back home, he said, sometimes wonder what happened with the president (in the first debate). The senator said, I paraphrase: I sort of have to tell them that it wasn't a miscalculation or a weird moment. I tell them: I know him, and that was him. That guy on the stage, that's the real Obama. Surge towards Romney

Last month, women preferred Obama over Romney 56% to 40% on the economy. Now, the difference is 49% for Romney and 45% for Obama.  Where understanding people’s problems is concerned, Obama’s lead among women has shrunk from 58%-36% to a 50%-43%.
The polls consistently show a real surge to Romney, from Obama:
Rasmussen: Mitt Romney 50% nationwide, Obama 47%.
Gallup: Romney 50%, Obama 47%.
ABC News/Washington Post: 49% Romney, 48% Obama.
Reuters/Ipsos: Romney 47%, Obama 46%.
AP-GfK: Romney 47%, Obama 45%.

Obama rage as defeat looms

"...the president keeps playing the same losing hand aimed at denigrating an opponent who strikes most Americans as inherently reasonable. That makes one wonder whether the president’s condescending attitude as well as his sarcasm has a lot more to do with his anger at Romney’s strength and staying power than it does with any tactical political plan," writes Jonathan Tobin in Commentary. "More and more, it’s sounding as if President Obama is just plain mad at Romney because of the growing possibility that he [Obama] is going to lose the election..." Read it all.

Barack Obama made a fatal mistake when he lied, claiming he'd labeled the Libya attack as an act of terrorism. The look on Romney's face said it all: Mr. President, here comes checkmate.

Obama 'to announce Iran nuke deal'

Iranian and U.S. negotiators have reached an agreement that calls for Iran to halt part of its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting sanctions, according to a highly placed Iranian source, WND reports.

California, a state of craziness

Victor Davis Hanson writes: "California may face the nation's largest budget deficit at $16 billion. It may struggle with the nation's second-highest unemployment rate at 10.6 percent. Dear Diary: Another day in purgatory at the Kingsmill resort, in Williamsburg, verbally duelling with John Kerry,  as  I look wistfully through the windows at the golf courses outside. I know perfectly well that I roundly defeated Mittman in the last debate, and there's no reason this should be any different. Giving me an inflatable Romney and a baseball bat won't make me more aggressive. Debating Kerry is as bracing as bathing in warm ketchup. Frankly, I'm bored. Maybe I should  take a break and carry another five pizzas into the local democrat office and soak up their admiration.  What impertinence it is to expect a sitting president to put on a dog and pony show to justify his re-election. The Book of Mitt

I have a strong work ethic, I hope I can say this without being prideful. And I have made most of the weekend to prep for Tuesday's debate. Barack Obama, bless his heart, seems to find it hard to concentrate on anything for very long. Even during our last debate he looked as though he was thinking about his last round of golf. I was almost reluctant to tear him away from his reveries. Today I see he took a break from prep to drop by at a local Dem office bearing pizza and make a few voter calls.  Pride cometh before a fall, my friend.

Joe's creepy message

"Biden’s smile, though it may be the most remembered part of the debate, probably didn’t work as intended. Democrats may have overlooked the inauthenticity of the smile, not to mention Biden’s repeated interruptions, because he was projecting the aggression they were feeling.
Research on smiles is extensive and fascinating. Sincere smiles, which have a name — the Duchenne smile — are related to health and longevity, among other things. But studies also show that different kinds of smiles convey different messages.
Our deep brains instinctively decipher smiles and generally know what they mean. A sincere smile conveys confidence, humor and contagious well-being. An insincere smile is hostile — and creepy...." Read more
