Nigel Farage predicts violent revolution in Europe
Laughing Conservative is a big fan of Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party [UKIP] and scourge of Eurocrats. Here he's in full flood at an investment conference in Chile, flanked by Ron Paul and Jim Rogers. He is a brilliant, funny, public speaker and has a remarkable record of being correct in his predictions.

Ludicrous leftoids: Global warming 'creates prostitutes'

Dim crims: Peeping Toms take big fall
Two men fell through a restroom ceiling as they allegedly tried to spy on women at the Venture Value Cinema in Duluth. According to arrest warrants, the manager said he thinks the men went up through the men's restroom, crawled over to the women's and then fell through, landing directly inside the stalls. An officer wrote that the men were “invading the privacy” of various customers. Source

Barack Obama's Diary: Howzit hangin' dude?
Dear Diary: I'm on a comedic roll. After my masterful speech at the White House Correspondents' dinner, I decided to add some wisecracks to my speech at the National Academy of Sciences 150th anniversary today. Since I am a better scientist than most scientists, I asked why they had not been more successful at creating renewable energy. "Why no nuclear fusion?" I asked. "If the sun can manage it, why can't you?" There followed a stunned silence due to their understandable awe at the depth of my knowledge.
Later today I had my staff place a call to professional basketball player Jason Collins who came out as gay this morning.
"Mr Collins is on the line, sir," said the switchboard operator. I said: "Wassup, Jason, congratulations on coming out of the closet!" He said: "Bathhouse Barry! I'd know your voice anywhere.. Hey man, how's it hangin'..." Strange guy ... I couldn't understand what on earth he was talking about. But enough about me.

Dumb slebs: Mike Tyson
Former boxer turned Broadway star Mike Tyson – who owes millions in back taxes – hopes that Obamacare will help him save money, says Politico.
“I look forward to paying my taxes… I know that they say that’s legal extortion, but I’m living in this country and if I have to pay taxes — that’s the money I paid for my life on earth. My wife, my family — I got one of the biggest liberal families in the world, but I had more money when Bush and Reagan was president,” Tyson said laughing.

Gitmo prisoners face horror of VA redtape
[Satire alert] In a controversial move praised by the international community as a promotion of human rights, the Department of Defense has begun allowing prisoners at Guantanamo Bay to seek Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. While these benefits have traditionally been restricted to veterans of the United States Military to use in pursuit of a degree, the Pentagon has seen fit to begin allowing GTMO prisoners to enroll in the program.
DoD Spokesman Wesley Manheim said that it was all a matter of fairness: “The DoD has been doing everything it can to prevent torture from being used against detainees at GTMO. By allowing the detainees to use the Department of Veterans Affairs, we hope to completely crush their souls with bureaucracy, which to be noted, is completely different from torture. I mean, hell, the VA does that to our veterans on a daily basis. Read more: [Thanks R.K.]

Billions of dollars in theft and corruption 'orchestrated by Obama'
Doug Ross says he rarely writes approvingly of an article in The New York Times. But for Sharon LaFraniere's 'masterful deconstruction' of the Pigford Scandal, he makes an exception.
"Like Operation Fast and Furious and Benghazi, the Pigford Scandal is a hundred times worse than Watergate,"writes Ross. "It represents institutionalized corruption and theft orchestrated by the President of the United States. It is, in effect, a form of stealth reparations executed unlawfully on the part of this administration," Ross continues. Read it all.
Barack Obama's Diary: I hug me
Dear Diary: Bammit! Sometimes I am so delighted with myself that I want to give myself a hug and a kiss. Not an easy thing to achieve, but after my shining hour at the White House Correspondents' Dinner I tried to do it as I was undressing. Michelle cried out: "What on earth are you doing, you miserable little man". She was not pleased that I had poked gentle fun at her bangs, and said I looked ridiculous standing in the bedroom in my shorts and socks with my arms wrapped tightly around myself. I retired to the Presidentopedic and the soothing touch of the satin edging of my blankey Boo-boo. Boo-boo luv Barry..um..num...num num... Boo boo will keep nasty dreams about red lines in Syria away from Barry won't you Boo-boo? Um--num...num ... zzzzzzzzz.

Barack Obama's Diary: Press Corpse
Dear Diary: I am in a state of irritation. I managed to fit in a round of golf today, but a beautiful sunny day at Joint Base Andrews became overcast. Meantime, since I am a better gag-writer that a professional gag-writer, I thought up some great one-liners for tonight's White House Correspondents' Dinner, but Valerie Jarrett censored the best, like: "Before I speak you should all look under your tables for a pressure cooker. If you find one I can guarantee that you'll have a blast tonight." and ... " Did you hear the one about about the suspect who was singing like a canary to the FBI when the Attorney General had him Mirandized before anyone could learn if there were others involved in the Boston bombing. That's how the A-G got the nickname Eric The Withholder." Now, that's as funny as naming a library after George Bush which is hilarious if I may say so myself, and I may, so I have. But enough about me.

Rising outrage over bomber being Mirandized mid-interrogation
There is increasing outrage over the alleged Boston bomber being Mirandized in the middle of his interrogation. Rudy Giuliani has called it "ridiculous". Laughing Conservative has a rather more colorful expletive in mind for Eric Holder and the rest of the the absurdly incompetent Obama administration. In an interview with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren, Giuliani said: “This guy is kind of telling you about how he’s coming to New York and do a bombing, a judge walks in and we cut off the questioning?” Giuliani said. “What are we, crazy?” Read more.
Barack Obama's Diary: Red line? What red line?
Dear Diary: I addressed a Planned Parenthood gala in DC. today. I didn't know what to expect at a P.P. "gala"... people dressed as dancing fetuses? My remarks were carefully neutral with lots of ...er..long... pauses. Using this technique...one can sound...er... thoughtful and... concerned... while...stretching a para...graph into...er... an entire... speech. Later I met with King Abdulla of Jordan. I had left it to Joe Biden to explain the awkward question of why I had drawn a red line for Assad over chemical weapons and then allowed Assad to cross it without consequence. I had a reminder just yesterday at the Bush Library of the consequence of holding to principled decisions. Poor Dubya was so ashamed of his 8 years that he cried. Give me the good old Bill Clinton technique of wetting a finger and holding it up to the wind of public opinion before deciding. Tonight I am retiring early to the Presidentopedic after an episode of Storage Wars in which Jarrod is flying solo without Brandi. But enough about me.

Obama's huge hubris problem
"Tuesday morning, a peculiar announcement trickled out of the White House press office: President Barack Obama would be holding a moment of silence for the victims of the Boston bombings. At the White House. By himself. No press or other intruders allowed. Except the White House photographer." writes Keith Koffler in a guest slot on Politico.
"That Obama assumed Americans would want an iconic photo of him privately mourning the victims of the bombings was emblematic of a kind of hubris that has enveloped the president and his White House as the president commences his second term.
Hubris in a leader is an obnoxious thing, leading to imperiousness in governing. And it’s also a dangerous thing for a second-term president, often spelling trouble." Read more:

Barack Obama's Diary: Goat cojones
Dear Diary: What a day! Yee-hah! or whatever it is they yell in Texas. There I was, leader of the Free World outshining the dim bulbs who had been disinterred for the opening of the George W. Bush presidential library. I didn't think much of the place. For my memorial I have in mind something much more imposing, an obelisk like the Washington Monument with a Hall of Affordable Health Care at its base, maybe. As the other has-beens reminisced I found myself wondering if Marv, my travel director, had remembered to put my travel blankie under my pillow on Airforce One so I could get some sleep on the way back to DC. I am meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan for lunch tomorrow, when we will dine heartily upon ram's unmentionables, in the private dining room. I'm asking Joe to join us, but have asked the kitchen to describe what we're eating as Arabian meatballs, and to make sure the King gets the eyes, and hope Joe doesn't make some horrible wisecrack like "Here's looking at you, kid." And then giggling for half an hour. Nobody knows the troubles I've seen. But enough about me.

The growing pain in Spain
For many of us who watch in horror as Obama screws up the US economy, spare a thought for the pain in Spain where budget deficits are also out of control, home prices are still falling, GDP is down 2% annualized in the first quarter, production is down, the unemployment rate soared a full percentage point to 27.16%, and a record 6.2 million are out of work. Two million out of 17.4 million Spanish households are without a single person holding a job. Job losses were particularly heavy in the services sector, but also in industry and farming.
Construction has shed more than 1.6 million jobs since 2008 as a result of the bursting of Spain’s housing bubble. These numbers are an indication of a freefall, not a bottom. Yet, Prime Minister Rajoy says the Spanish economy has bottomed and Spain will return to growth this year. Read more

Outrageous! Congress seeks Obamacare exemption
Congressional leaders are holding secret talks about exempting Congress from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said. The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker John Boehner, the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Looney leftoids attack praying archbishop
A group of naked women attacked Belgian Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard while he was speaking in Brussels and doused him with water from bottles shaped like the Virgin Mary. The women were reportedly feminist protesters from the Ukranian-based FEMEN group, which is known for organizing topless protests against the Catholic Church and others.
According to AFP, the four protesters charged the archbishop during “a debate on blasphemy and freedom of expression held at the Brussels’ Free University (ULB) campus Tuesday evening, baring their breasts and squirting water at Archbishop Andre Leonard as he prayed and they accusing him of "homophobia." Obama has made America even MORE hated by Muslims
After he was first elected President Obama fled from the concept of a struggle against Islamic terrorism as if fighting jihadis... were equivalent to warring against all Muslims. Orwellian language flowed. The war on terror became "overseas contingency operations." When tiptoeing through language after the Boston bombings, the administration at first declined to use the word "terror," "What has this excruciating torture of the language and elaborate "rebranding" achieved?" asks Mona Charen. "The U.S. is not safer. Terror attacks have been attempted at the same rate as during the Bush years. As for U.S. standing in the Muslim world, the Guardian reports that a 2011 poll found approval ratings for the U.S. have plummeted. "In most countries they are lower than at the end of the Bush administration, and lower than Iran's favorable ratings." A 2012 Pew poll of six predominantly Muslim nations — Turkey, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan — found U.S. approval ratings below those during the Bush Administration. Read it all.

Lurch likens Boston bombers to Israeli commandos
In an effort to get Turkey to cooperate with the U.S. and bridge relations with Israel, Lurch [a.k.a Secretary of State John Kerry] says the Boston Marathon bombings reminded him of Turks who lost family during "the 2010 IDF raid on the Marmara." Kerry was referring to the 2010 boarding of the Mavi Marmara, one of the ships in the "Gaza Freedom Flotilla" that attempted to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip, by IDF commandos. The soldiers were attacked by militants recruited by The Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH), a Turkish charity accused of having ties to Islamic terrorist organizations, when they boarded the ship.
Nine militants were killed during attempts to rescue Israeli commandos who had been severely wounded and captured by activists abord the vessel; seven Israelis were wounded during the operation.

"During President Obama’s address to the nation following the capture of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, previously known as Suspect 2 in the Boston Marathon bombing, a few things bothered me greatly," writes Jennifer Burke. "While I was pleased with the fact that the president spoke so quickly following this capture, that feeling wore off as soon as he started speaking. From delivery to substance, this was not a Presidential speech following the capture of a terrorist who terrorized and killed American citizens on American soil. The president’s delivery was incredibly robotic. There was absolutely no emotion in his voice. There was no sound of anger. There was no sound of relief. There was no sound of resolve whatsoever. Dear Diary: It has bee an exhausting day. After my usual breakfast of two eggs over easy with wholewheat toast I headed to the situation room to brief my cabinet and aides on the Boston situation. I directed them to continue the hunt for the bomber who is still fleeing, and to cordon off areas as necessary. Thank to my years of education at Harvard I know my way around Boston pretty good and I was able to guide the FBI and ATF to where they would be most effective. FBI Director Mueller thanked me profusely and said they wouldn't otherwise have that information, Mister President. Did I detect a slight tinge of sarcasm in Mueller's voice? Surely not. He wouldn't dare use irony in speaking to the leader of the free world. Obama 'gloating in victory, adolescent in defeat'
At London's Telegraph, historian Tim Stanley writes:
"Barack Obama is a lame duck president. Nobody listens to what he says anymore, nobody is interested in winning his approval and nobody much cares if he thinks they have “let the country down”.
This is typical for a second-term president who has lost all their leverage because they’re no longer running for office and everybody is patiently waiting for the day when he quits the White House.
But Obama's difficult personality has doubled the size of the challenge. Gloating in victory, adolescent in defeat – the Prez doesn’t make it easy to work with him. Why should conservative senators give him a legislative victory after he has spent four years painting them as knuckle-dragging rednecks who hate women and the poor?

Obama shoots self in foot
"Never before had President Barack Obama put the moral force and political muscle of his presidency behind an issue quite this big — and lost quite this badly," says Politico.
"The president...broke his own informal “Obama Rule” of never leaning into an issue without a clear path to victory — first by pushing for a massive gun control package no one expected to pass, and then sticking through it even as he retrenched to a relatively modest bipartisan bill mandating national background checks on gun purchases. It was a bitter defeat for a president accustomed to winning, a second-term downer that may foreshadow the slow decline suffered by so many of his predecessors." Read it all.

College fires Obama-pledge professor
Brevard Community College (BCC) has fired Professor Sharon Sweet after a school investigation concluded she required students to sign a pledge to vote for President Obama in the run-up to the 2012 election.
The school’s president recommended to the Board of Trustees that professor Sweet should be fired, following an investigation that found her guilty of “harassment, incompetence, misconduct, and unprofessional behavior.” Sweet was a $40,000-a-year tenured professor who had taught at the college five years.

Barack Obama's Diary: Me myself to the rescue
Dear Diary: The moment I was informed of the Boston bombings I leaped into action. I directed my FBI director to scour the area for clues. "Scour the area for clues..." I said tersely "..."and make it quick." He relayed my instructions to his agents in the field. "Question all suspects," I reminded him. No sooner had I put the FBI on the bomber's trail when another crisis arose. Somebody had mailed letters tainted with ricin to a Senator and to me. "Look at the postmarks," I barked at FBI director Mueller." That will tell you the origin". He was very grateful for my help and said his agents could never have figured that out on their own. I have a very versatile intellect, though I say so myself and I do. But enough about me.
Quote of the Day...
"I came to commemorate the greatest hero of our modern age. She took a nation on its knees and breathed new life into it." - Anthony Boutall, 25, who camped out overnight near St. Paul's Cathedral hooping to catching a glimpse of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's flag-draped coffin before her funeral. Boston bombs made from pressure cookers
The bombs that ripped through the crowd at the Boston Marathon, killing three people and wounding more than 170, were fashioned out of pressure cookers and packed with shards of metal, nails and ball bearings to inflict maximum carnage, a person briefed on the investigation said Tuesday, AP reports.
Kerry, Saudis cancel meeting
A meeting Secretary of State John Kerry was to hold with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal was abruptly closed to press coverage Tuesday morning, Politico reports
The State Department provided no reason for the change, which was announced just 15 minutes before the scheduled 10 A.M. session, but media reports have said that a Saudi national in the U.S. on a student visa is a "person of interest" to investigators probing the bombings at the Boston Marathon.

Disgraceful: Obama snubs Thatcher funeral
"Barack Obama, who sent an official delegation from his administration to Venezuela for socialist dictator, Hugo Chavez’s funeral, won’t send one to Margaret Thatcher’s," writes Matthew Burke. One of Marxist Obama’s first shamefully embarrassing, classless acts as president was to return a bust of the great British leader, Winston Churchill, a gift from Britain to the U.S. which was displayed in the White House. It was such a disgusting act that the Obama propaganda machine originally lied about it, calling the story “100% false.” Finally, they had to admit it was true, but like all decisions made by “Dear Leader” Obama, it was largely ignored by the mainstream media. It should have been a strong warning to Americans about Obama’s ideology.
"As with all things Obama, his words are a contrary indicator of what he actually does. His official statement about the passing of Baroness Thatcher, included saying, “With the passing of Baroness Margaret Thatcher, the world has lost one of the great champions of freedom and liberty, and America has lost a true friend.”

Barack Obama's Diary: Bunker buster
Dear Diary: I was called upon to show my exceptional leadership skills again today when bombs exploded at the Boston Marathon. The Secret Service hustled me to the express elevator down to my bunker where Carney thrust a card with talking points into my hand. I took my place in front of a simulacrum of the backdrop of the White House briefing room so that TV viewers would think I was remaining cool at the helm of the nation in the rather than hundreds of feet below ground in a biologically and chemically filtered bunker. I spoke to the ready-prepared camera, of the toughness of Bostonians and how our thoughts and prayers go out to the families...you know the sort of thing... we will not rest until we bring the full weight of justtce onto those responsible. Michelle and the girls arrived soon after me and we will probably have stay down here for the night. But enough about all of us. This diary is supposed to be about me. I do hope Marv Nicholson has arranged for one of my blankies to be under my pillow down here. Boo-boo Two is my preferred alternative, although Boo-boo Three has worked before in extremis. Nobody knows the troubles I've seen.
Yes, it's terrorism, White House concedes
The bombing at the Boston Marathon that killed at least two and injured more than 80 is believed to be an act of terrorism, a senior White House official says. The timing of the blasts immediately sparked suspicions of a deliberate act. “When multiple devices go off, that’s an act of terrorism,” a senior administration official said moments after President Obama delivered a statement to the nation that avoided the word “terror.” More

Obama and a 'secret plan to destroy our country'
"President Obama and I were college classmates at Columbia University, class of ’83," writes Wayne Root. "I know all too well how mindlessly liberal the students and faculty of that institution can be, and Barack Obama is certainly no exception. My time at Columbia made it crystal clear: liberals always believe they are morally superior. While they publicly state that their mission is to save the world from prejudice, patriotism, racism, greed, and inequality, they are, in fact, hostile and resentful towards anyone who has achieved self-made success through American values. It is in this cesspool of intolerance that Obama and his Marxist cronies hatched a secret plan to destroy our country." Read it all.
Barack Obama's Diary: Slam dunk
After my usual breakfast of two eggs over easy with wholewheat toast, I put on a dark Secret Service jacket, Nike pants, red-and-grey sneakers and a White Sox cap and jogged in carefree fashion to The Beast which was idling along with the rest of the motorcade ready to take me to the FBI basketball court to shoot hoops with my former body-man Reggie Love. Carney made sure it was closed press this time, after my humiliating 22/2 performance at the White House Easter egg roll.
I had an early call from John Kerry who seems to have calmed the Chicoms and persuaded them to lean on the Gnome of Pyongyang to curb his bellicose rhetoric. I like the word bellicose, "warlike" for those who have not had the advantage of my outstanding education and cannot call upon the vast vocabulary that I have at my disposal. Antidisestablishmentarianism: that normally shuts up pretentious people who try to out-vocabularize me. Where was I? Oh yes, basketball. Moving along, quickly, Reggie once played for Duke so the score doesn't really count. But enough about me.
Doubtful Joke of the Day
From our correspondent in the People's Republic of Vermont:
Someone once asked me, "What is your job?"
I replied: "I am my wife's sexual advisor."
Somewhat shocked, they said "I beg your pardon, but what do you mean by that?"
"Very simple. My wife has told me that when she wants my f***ing advice, she'll ask for it."

Margaret Thatcher, liberator
Laughing Conservative has never been an unqualified fan of blogger Andrew Sullivan, perhaps because of his overt advocacy of same sex relationships. But the is no denying his perceptive political eye. This tribute to Margaret Thatcher is one of the best pieces written on her liberating effect on Britain's fossilized social structure and her remarkable contribution to global conservative politics. Dim Crims
A 19-year-old Florida man who twice called 911 because he “didn’t like how his mom was talking to him” was arrested early yesterday for misuse of the police emergency system. Vincent Valvo was collared outside his Vero Beach home after a cop arrived there around 4:30 AM in response to the teenager’s second 911 call. Valvo, complained about his mother in both calls, according to an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office report. After his first 911 call, Valvo was “informed about the improper use of 911 and the penalty for doing so.” Following the second call, Valvo, was arrested for abuse of 911, a misdemeanor.More

Wind power 'kills jobs, inflates costs'
Ontario's pursuit of wind power has driven up electricity prices, is killing jobs and might even lead to more smog, a new Fraser Institute report says. Ross McKitrick, author of Environmental and Economic Consequences of Ontario's Green Energy Act (GEA), says the Ontario government's electricity plan is now 10 times more costly than installing pollution-control equipment on existing coal plants — an option he argues would have produced similar improvements in air quality. His analysis of the GEA concludes the province is well on its way to having some of the highest electricity prices in North America. Read more.

Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations? asks Kirsten Powers.
"It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page.
