Dictated from Airforce One en route from Denver to Madison, Wisconsin:
Dear Diary: Excuse me. I did a brilliant job last night, if I may say so myself and I do. It was so undemanding that I was able to almost sleepwalk through the whole thing. So why are the lapdog media turning on me? Even The New York Times plunged a knife in my back. After ...errr...four years it seems that they still have to learn that my intellect is without peer. My coaches had trained away my usual verbal aids like "let me be clear" which made me errr...uncomfortable, but that was a minor issue. My grasp of the...errr... problems that I face shone through and people understand how much I have tried to fix things, but that daggone Romney kept hitting me with his "facts" . Meantime, as I told Axelrod, I'll do even better at the next debate, on foreign policy, where everyone knows what a great job I've done, intimidating the Iranians, curbing the Israelis and saving Egypt from domination by Islamic extremists. OK, maybe we were caught flat-footed in Benghazi, but nobody's perfect. Even me.
