Obama, America's Peron

Economist Scott Grannis: "...it is with great concern and sadness that I see a creeping Peronism happening in the U.S. economy under President Obama. Consider this latest headline: "Obama to Announce Contraception Rule ‘Accommodation’ for Religious Organizations." What business does our president have telling organizations and insurance companies how they should run their business, what kinds of healthcare policies they can offer, and whether or not they can charge for contraceptive services? This goes way beyond right-to-life issues, religious freedom, and the ObamaCare mandate...It's all about whether we are going to have our economy and our personal decisions micro-managed in Washington. Are we ready to embrace Peronism? " Read it all.

Planned Parenthood's sinister birth

"If you aren’t creeped out by the No Birth Control Left Behind rhetoric of the White House and Planned Parenthood, you aren’t listening closely enough. The anesthetic of progressive benevolence always dulls the senses. Wake up." Michelle Malkin has a fascinating post on the sinister origins of Planned Parenthood. Read it all.

Rubio: Already a tropical storm

Marco Rubio is a already a  political tropical storm and before long the Florida senator could become  a political  hurricane.  He told CPAC: "Unlike any leader in modern American history, we are led today by a president that has decided to pit Americans against each other. The basic argument he is making to our nation is that the reason why some of us are worse off than we used to be is because other people are doing too well. That the only way for some of us to do better is for some people to do worse.
"Do you know what the most powerful thing about our nation is?” Rubio continued. “It’s the American example. The fact that anywhere you go in the world, people know that there is someone just like them, living here, who is doing things that they cannot.
“Do you know why people sacrifice their lives and struggle to access democracy and free enterprise around the world? Because they see what it has done here. They see in the American example what can happen when anyone from anywhere can accomplish anything they want. They see what it means. And they want that for themselves.”

Cabby: Our Advice Columnist

Dear Cabby: I'm gaining  in the race for the GOP nomination.  I want to keep up my momentum, but I don't have the money the other guys have. What should I do?-- Rick S., Pennsylvania.

Dear Rick: Primaries are kinda like heavy  traffic.  There's no point in fighting to get ahead.  Fuggedaboudit. Let the other schmucks  lean on their horns, cuss at each other,  stomp on the gas and then hit the brakes. They just stress themselves for nothing.  Just relax. You gotta problem widdat?  Good. Then you'll do just fine, Rick.  Ain't ya cold in that sweater vest?   Nah, forget the tip...you need it more than I do. --Cabby

The Acadamy of Dung Beetles' Award  is being rolled towards billionaire Nick Hanauer who  has stern words for  mere "millionaires" -- it's time to pay your fair share in taxes. Hanauer sold his Internet media company aQuantive to Microsoft for $6.4 billion.  OK Nick -- you want " fair?"  Then start by  writing  a check to the Treasury for -- shall we say-- $2 billion?  That's less than 30%.  Hmm, I thought not ...

Nobody likes Dick Romney

DENVER (The Borowitz Report) – Exit polls from last night’s Republican contests reveal that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney’s key obstacle to gaining the GOP nomination is the fact that voters cannot stand him. According to Davis Logsdon, who conducted the polls for the University of Minnesota’s Opinion Research Institute, “Despite his superb organization, funding, and ground game, Mitt Romney is having trouble overcoming the perception among voters that he is a ginormous dick.” More here.
