New NY bridge to cost $1 million a YARD

President Barack Obama has  chosen a $5.2 billion Tappan Zee Bridge  replacement  project for expedited  federal approval. Our New York correspondent  calculates the cost of a new 16,000ft bridge over the Hudson at $1 million a yard. But, look on the bright side: it  will make for a slightly faster journey for those lucky people  who still  have job to travel  to when the bridge is completed in several years' time.
