It's been a truism throughout Obama's presidency that he's been treated very gently by the Mainstream Media and the MSM have been accused simultaneously of losing their edge when it comes to policing government. Current events are proving this to be uncomfortably true. The startling series of exclusives about Internet and phone surveillance have all come-- not from a major American publication, like Time, The Wall Street Journal or The Washington Post -- but from The Guardian a small circulation , left-of-center broadsheet based in England, with very limited resources. It's time for the MSM to stop blaming the Internet for their loss of immediacy and shrinking income and time to get back to creating their own immediacy by building trusted sources and getting back to old-fashioned shoe-leather reporting. If The Guardian can do it, so can the NYT.
