Dear Diary: After the Daily Presidential Briefing, upon which I chose to bestow my presence this morning, I was whisked off to Detroit on Taxpayer One to tour the Daimler-Benz diesel plant. This served several purposes: to show the UAW I still care and to provide the backdrop for a speech drumming up public support for the rich to pay their fair share of taxes-- and what better place for that, than your friendly neighborhood Mercedes factory. OK, it's Detroit and not friendly...but you get my drift. Talking of drifts, it's been snowing like heck up north and I was more than glad to take off again for DC where the weather is still warm enough for golf. [Note to self: Ask Marv to set up a round at Andrews if the DC weather is still clear.]
