Dear Barry: L.C's advice column

Dear BARRY: I am CEO of a large organization and I have to keep control over employee behavior. I have done this by drawing "red lines" and my heads of department know that there will repercussions if they cross them. One of them has crossed a red line and is  effectively challenging me to do something about it. If I don't react, I fear that I will lose face and not be taken seriously again. If I do react,  I fear there will be a general rebellion and conflict.  What shall I do? --PDQ, San Clemente.

Dear PDQ: You should have thought of the consequences before you drew any red lines. I suggest you try firing a few employees in a surgical strike and hope to God that you won't be drawn into a wider  conflict and get fired yourself --- BARRY, D.C
