Palin pulls ahead in straw poll

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin racked-up another week’s win in the Conservative HQ 2016 Republican presidential straw poll, taking 47 percent of the vote, while Texas Senator Ted Cruz was second with 25 percent and Kentucky’s libertarian-minded Senator Rand Paul sank a bit and only garnered 10 percent of this week’s vote.  The next two places in the top five went to limited government constitutional conservatives Col. Allen West and Dr. Ben Carson, who each booked 5 percent of the vote.  Palin’s vote in last week’s straw poll may have been boosted by her Facebook post “Let Allah Sort it Out,” urging the U.S. to stay out of Syria and which summed-up (as Governor Palin always seems to do) the feelings of many grassroots constitutional conservatives.
The post, while gathering the usual criticism from the Chardonnay and Brie crowd in Georgetown, is well worth a read for its common sense statement of the reasons to oppose Obama’s adventure in Syria. (You can get to it through this link.)
